So back in the Day, I recall many college nights playing Resident Evil and Tomb Raider in the dorms, and for the life cycle of the Play Station, I played a lot of video games..... Then life took over; kids, job, wife, adulthood, etc.... and since the play station era I haven't played many, if any, video games. I've dabbled on the kids PS 3 from time to time, but our youngest was too young to really have much time for me to "game". Fast forward to this Christmas and we got the boys a PS4 since the PS 3 won't have any new games made for it. While Christmas shopping I saw Resident Evil 2 for the ps4 and thought what the heck I'm buying this for me, maybe it will never get played, but I'm going to re-live the dorm days of Resident Evil and Mountain Dew and Doritos......and at least try and play a newer iteration of a game I once played for hours on end.

I love this PS4. The graphics to me are like playing a movie compared to my dorm days and the Play Station, I finished my Resident Evil 2 game in 16 hours and I think one day over the Christmas holiday while I had the house to myself, I played it for seven hours straight. After I "beat" that game, I purchased The Last of Us Re-mastered and three days later, that one was done as well. I'm now working through the Uncharted series in order before the 4th installment lands this Spring..... I tend to go hog wild on things I like and enjoy from wet shaving, to watches, to fountain pens, it's a damn good thing I've never tried illegal drugs or I would be destined for rehab. I could see me getting back into Video Games again. Part of me says that quietly as I'm not sure grown men are supposed to be "gamers" but I must say I have enjoyed the heck out of those last two games and if uncharted is as great as everyone says the series is..... my weekends may just be booked for the foreseeable future and TV time may be traded for "game" time.

Anyone else a "gamer" or a reborn again gamer?

We got the kids a joint XBox One last year and I've been playing more then them. They got it as a birthday gift as they don't accept party gifts from their invited guests but rather ask them to bring donations from the Humane Society or Food Banks. Easy on the parents to not have to pick a gift and the kids give back to the community. It's a win win.

Having grown up on Atari, then Nintendo NES, PS1 then a Wii...it was fun to get back into gaming with the XBox. We also use it for streaming media from the PC and Netflix.

I play a lot of PVZ Garden Warfare and Forza 6.

I've dabbled in video games all my life.

All evidence has been buried. All tapes have been erased.

40 year old gamer here....Atari was my first game system back in the 80's. I saved up as a teenager and bought my first PC and enjoyed Xwing and Tie Fighter. That PC and Ultima Online tried to assist me in ending my college career but I was able to resist and managed to graduate hehe. That was almost 18 years ago now and I am still an avid gamer. I enjoy several PC games. I've probably spent most of my gaming hours playing World of Warcraft. I havent played that for several years but when I was playing it I did so with coworkers and friends so it replaced hanging out in a bar I guess. I had the first two gens of xbox, now I have a PS4. I sit in front of a PC during my work day so I find PS4 gaming from the comfort of my couch in the evenings trumps PC now for the most part. Fallout 4 is the current drug and I've sunk quite a few hours into it. Fun game. Another game you may enjoy on PS4 given some of the titles you listed is FarCry4. I really enjoyed that one as well and you can probably pick it up pretty cheap now. If I'm not playing games I find I watch gamers on Twitch playing games I enjoy instead of watching tv. And when I'm not watching that I'm watching the days shaving vidoes. In fact I'm very close to calling Direct TV and telling them I'm done sending them money each month.

steeleshaves - you might be surprised at the number of people over 40 who play video games. There are lots of nice sites about that you can sign up for that are video game centric.

One I know is artofwargaming.net. Nice chap, has a team speak, tends to play medieval warfare oriented games.

I used to be a HEAVY PC gamer, about 8-10 years ago...I'm talking like 60-80 hours/week. I was on of the top guys in Swat 4 in the world...

I don't game that much anymore. that said, I've been playing grand theft auto V on the pc with my buddy lately.
