Something happened to day that blew my mind and I felt it was worthy of sharing.

I ordered some all natural deodorant and hair pomade from a company called American Provenance.  Link below:
http://www.americanprovenance.com/

When I picked up the package it was heavier than expected, and when I opened it I found that they sent me a sample pack of aftershaves too.  On their website this sample pack retails for $22.50, a thank you card was also included but I was just amazed that they would send such a big gift for such a random and benign purchase.

I don't know why this struck me as over the top but it did.  I thought this was really impressive and speaks volumes about this company.  I have not used any of their products before but will post follow up's about their performance.  Below are pictures of what was in the box....

Wow that's really cool! I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the products. I've never heard of them before.

The names seem to be combining the masculine rough and tumble (Brass Knuckles and Branding Irons) with the more gentle (Simple, Pleasant & Understated).  Hmm, trying to bring out a gent's feminine side, perhaps?  Confused2

Ok so I promised I would review the stuff I ordered from American Provenance as most of us had never heard of them before and our community lives and dies on word of mouth IMHO.

so lets start with the POMADE-

Company description:
BRASS KNUCKLES & BRANDING IRONS POMADE All Natural Ingredients-Beeswax, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Arrowroot Powder, Vitamin E Oil, Argan Oil, Essential Oil Blend (Clove, Wintergreen, Cypress)

My impression:
Performance wise this is your average medium hold pomade.  I have curly hair and I was able to get the curls straightened out and get a good pompadour going with it.  The hold lasts about 4 hours then the hold starts to breakdown.  I think it is decent and will continue to use it until gone.  The scent on this is predominantly clove...I can't get the cypress or wintergreen.  It has a medium scent strength that I get whiffs of throughout the day.  Would I buy it again....maybe, undecided at this point.

THE DEODORANTS

75ml of All Natural Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Shea Butter, Arrowroot Powder, Baking Soda, Essential Oil Blend

HORSESHOES & HAND GRENADES (Ylang Ylang, Bergamot, Clove)

LANTERNS & LURES (Lemongrass, Cypress, Fir)

My impression:
Performance on these is great...a little too great.  In my early experimentation a little goes a long way.  The scent on these is similar to the Pomade, its a single note to my nose.  So, the Horseshoes and Hand Grenades scent is a dominant clove while the Lanterns and Lures is a dominant Lemongrass.  The first application of the Lantern and Lures had my friends asking who was spraying lemon pledge to my embarrassment.  I found that a light swipe in your pit was more than sufficient to ward off odor and not overpower your cologne or AS.  For an example of their effectiveness I wore one swipe under each arm of the Horseshoes, normal daily routine, 45 minute run in the afternoon and it was still going strong.  Would I buy them again...the deodorants yes, these particular scents no.  I will try the others when these run out...

Stay tuned for update 2...aftershaves
