Let me begin by saying that I am married to the most wonderful woman in the world. She is amazingly understanding and encouraging about my little "hobby" and, in fact, is somewhat enabling at times. She tells me (and this is not a lie), that since she likes to buy clothes, shoes, and purses, it's fair to let me buy all kinds of shaving gear. So, before we begin the tour, let me introduce you to the lovely Mrs. going_postal, for whom without her complete and total understanding and approval, none of this would have been possible:

Okay, here we go. These are my prime sets housed in a very nice curio cabinet. I really wanted a larger one, but space constraints wouldn't allow it. I tried to organize the razors per era, but it's not exact as I have more from some eras than others.

The top shelf is Old Types (Double Ring, Single Ring, Bulldog):

The second shelf is New Impoveds, NEWs, and some one-piece open comb TTOs:

The third shelf has a couple of 1946/47 Aristocrats and the best of the 50's, including (in the middle) the crown jewel of my collection -- an NOS 1950 Aristocrat Christmas set:

Shelf four houses my beautiful Brits:

Shelf five is mixed eras with 30's, 40's, and 50's:

The bottom shelf is mostly 50's goodness with a hint of 60's:

In the same room (office/computer room) that the curio resides in, I was allowed to hang some framed Gillette ads:

Where the actual whisker removal takes place, I have my brush shelf...

...and my wall-mounted razor holder (the how-to lives on at TSD):

Now we come to the "closet of shame" that houses my creams, soaps, 2000+ Astra blades, 30 bottles of Nivea AS Balm, and additional razors:

That concludes the tour, and remember that your generous tax deductible donations to maintain this collection are always gladly accepted.

Okay Rick, be honest. Does your wife have more clothes, shoes, and purses or do you have more shaving gear. From the looks of your incredible collection I bet she is always trying to catch up. Rotflol

Are you kidding? I would take pictures of all of her clothes to show you guys, but I don't think the server could handle such a massive upload.

Damn ! - the pics are gone !!!

Say Rick, any chance of a link to your collection ?

After what the guys have had to say, I know I'm missing out on something special.

Best,
Andy.
